I missed my classmates. All of us are having our practice teaching in our assigned schools and we haven't seen each other for days (for others, weeks!). We had our Welcome Party for the Sophomores and when I presented the movie that I made about our batch and the Juniors, it dawned on me that MY COLLEGE YEARS ARE THE BEST SCHOOL YEARS I've ever had! Seriously! And it's not over yet! My high school years were great but there's something about college that makes it more memorable. I can't define it but I know my college years are something that I'll treasure even after I graduate next March. I'm excited to graduate and have my diploma but I know that I will always look back on my college years with a smile on my face.
Ruby, Marco, Bella, Diana, Boss, Elmo, Fiel, Louanne, Sharon, Jhocy, Imee, Kuya Chris, Imee, Bel, Gab, Rome, Irvin, Nico, Jhen, Rex and Jona... Guys, miss ko na kayo!!!
Just got back from a 3-day stay at Oriental Mindoro!!! Me and my college buddies stayed at a classmate's hometown to escape the blistering heat of Manila.
The trip was pure fun because I get to experience a lot of FIRST:
- First trip outside Manila with friends just to have a much-deserved R and R
- First swim at a river (we swam at Catmon River, Pasig River in Manila is depressingly polluted)
- First ride in a ferry (we have to take a ferry-ride to get to the island of Mindoro!)
- First ride at the back of a motorcycle (while looking at the clear, cloudless sky of the night)
- First time to eat a meal with gata (it's hard to explain what it is but it's like a white soup being put to a food to add some flavour)
- First time to hold a puppy (although I go for animal rights, I only see them as abstract creatures)... and I was scared that I might do something that will harm the small creature...
- First time to see Bel, our classmate who invited us in his hometown of Bayombong, Oriental Mindoro, to be so chivalrous! You see, all my male classmates need improvements when it comes to chivalry. They don't really help us carry heavy loads... as in HEAVY loads when we do projects so it was a delight to see him so accomodating and helpful...
May mayabang ngang bata dun eh!
THE NERVE!!!
Hosting a symposium or a general assembly is becoming my job at our school. I don't know why they always choose me to become the mistress of ceremonies but even though I don't dislike doing it, it's makes me uncomfortable because I might say something that I would regret later on. Or worse, make myself look like a complete fool infront of the eyes of so many people who would inevitably judge me...
A while ago, we had another symposium again, and this time, it's about MIGRATION and HUMAN TRAFFICKING. The topic was interesting and enlightening. The speakers were very articulate and they really presented their topics well. I learned a lot from them, especially on how to avoid becoming a victim of human trafficking.
Going back to my job as a hostess, I asked my classmates after the symposium finished on what they think about me being a host. Many said that I was okay (I really don't like it when they give me a safe answer because it doesn't help me) but I really appreciate when Elmo pointed out that I looked nervous, panicking all the time, and she thinks that saying "please go in front" is not the write term when asking the speakers to go in front of the stage. I really don't know if she's right or not,at least, I find her critique helpful so that when my next hosting job happens, I would not look like I'm panicking at all!
