Twilight - The Movie
I have finally watched the MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIE of 2008 after agonizingly waiting for it for months! So what are my thoughts about it?
The things that I LIKE from the movie:
- The music - My favorites are Blue Foundations' EYES ON FIRE; Perry Farrell's GO ALL THE WAY (Into the Twilight); Iron and Wine's FLIGHTLESS BIRD, AMERICAN MOUTH; Robert Pattinson's NEVER THINK; and the LULLABY...
- The cinematography. I like the dampness of the place and it makes me like more rainy days...
- Robert Pattinson's portrayal of Edward Cullen, the vampire of my dreams. Tortured, uncertain, and a reluctant hero, Pattinson's take of the larger-than-life Edward Cullen totally convinced me. Kudos to him! His struggles whether to take out the venom from Bella or suck her blood completely during the Ballet Studio Scene was riveting.
- Billy Burke as Charlie Swan, Bella's father. He's a revelation!
- Jackson Rathbone as Jasper Hale is stiff and he always looks like he's in pain. The way he resist temptation is comical... and I liked it!
- Nikki Reed as Rosalie Hale is fantastic as the beautiful but unwelcoming sister.
- Edward and Bella walking together at school and all the students are looking at them.
- The Lullaby Scene - Edward playing the piano for Bella is a sight to behold.
- Bella introducing Edward to Charlie. It was so funny!
- Edward formally introduced Bella to the Cullens as his girlfriend.
- Edward and Bella at the top of the tree. I never thought that having your date at a top of a tree is wonderful.
- The Baseball Scene - It was fast and full of action.
- The Ballet Studio Scene
- The Prom Scene
- Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have great chemistry. Whenever they do interviews or photoshoots together, I can totally see and feel it. But the movie failed to capitalize on it. I can't see the magic nor feel the electricity!
- Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan is forgettable. I'm sorry but there's something missing on her performance. She looks tired and wants to go somewhere else.
- Bella and Alice's friendship wasn't established. Their friendship started during the time when Alice and Jasper are taking care of her but the movie didn't let the audience see it.
- The first part was dragging. The movie started to pace up after Bella discovered that Edward is a vampire but it lacks direction.
- The meadow scene is... lacking something.
- Their kissing scenes were short...
