Sin City EscapadeThursday, April 23It's my last day in Las Vegas now. I'm staying at Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) together with Tito Art and Tito Joey for the whole week, 'til my dad's done with his business engagements at the NAB Show. Hilton Grand Vacations Club, LVI've pretty much gone to most places here like the popular hotels Caesar's Palace, Paris, New York New York, Venetian, Sahara, Treasure Island, Mirage, et cetera. We also visitd the Las Vegas Outlet store and Chinatown for clothes & grocery shopping. Later on we're going to walk some more, go to Circus Circus, and head on for the water show at the Bellagio.I'm pissed that I spent $60.00 just for gifts for my friends back home but when I think of it, it's okay anyway 'cause we're never going back here unless we use our own money. Vegas changed a bit, especially with the number of tourists who came here. It's noticeably less than when we went here back in 2001. I can feel the global recession! :(The Las Vegas strip.Upcoming days...We're going to Arizona tomorrow to see the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, but I'm not sure about the latter. I have a BIG PROBLEM. Yesterday I posted an image of a young man at NYU wearing a cool shrunken (or, more probably, vintage kids) flannel shirt as outerwear (bottom photo). A lot of people commented that it basically had no redeeming style factor because it was "too grungy" to adapt into most other styles. For me personally, the only part of the look I really noticed was the idea of a shrunken shirt as almost a replacement to a cardigan. That's why I wasn't so surprised when I ran into this guy yesterday on 5th Ave doing the exact same concept but in a totally Ivy League way. I hate to keep bringing up the idea of "abstract inspiration" but this is a perfect example of how to be inspired by a vague concept of proportion (or color, or mix of genres or whatever) instead of being blinded by the reality of how something appears.
